There is just so much going on I don’t even know where to start!

Since the last post we were in the process of getting a house and we did get the house! It was a very smooth process. Inspection went well and so did the appraisal! Settlement was on Oct 16th and we brought our first load into the new house that evening. For the house itself we don’t want to change anything. The kitchen is gorgeous, the floors are lovely, and the wood stove is a great plus. Now, as far as our little porch area and the fenced in yard we have made some changes and will continue to do so for our kitties.

The porch area was just screened in – so we put Plexiglas over the screens to keep the heat in. The fenced yard was the base for our cat fence/netting we bought. It took a couple of weeks and we finally got it all done recently. This will help keep the cats in the yard. Sadly though, we lost our feral cat “Toppi” in the move and there’s no way anyone is going to catch him unless he’s trapped. He does have a collar on and is micro chipped but the info on the ID tag isn’t updated.

On the other hand, our other 7 cats are starting to settle a little bit; some faster than others. I am just crossing my fingers that this cat fence holds up and we won’t have any loose cats to worry about. So far so good; we had Mai and Mew outside and didn’t have any issues with them attempting escape. That fencing/netting was NOT cheap so it’d better do its job!

We also want to add cat shelves to the porch/sunroom area. For now we just have cat gyms in there. And eventually get some outdoor cat furniture.

As for our needs, we did get a new dining table. The next main item would be a couch, but that won’t be for a while since tons was spent on keeping the cats contained. We also got curtains for the living room, an end table to set my computer on, and a writing desk to do our bills on – yay.

It’s a bit stressful getting everything in order. It’s kind of driving me nuts having things just strewn about x__x but eventually thing will all have their place. Loosing Toppi was a kick in the ass. I knew we should have just left him at Grandma’s o_x – he just showed up there to begin with and was never really ‘our’ cat until we made him our cat. He hung around so we got him neutered and all his shots and then just released him back. Bringing him to a neighborhood was a mistake. All we can hope for is that he either finds his way back to Grandma’s (5 miles away) or someone traps him and I find him at the shelter. If that happens we’ll just take him back to Grandma’s. For now we are just leaving out food beside our house. All we can do is hope and pray for the best. Some cats you just can’t tame.
